3 x 3 writing process

a three-stage process that consist of prewriting ,drafting and revising.

Communication

the transmission of information and meaning from a sender to a receiver.

Channels

the medium(such as a computer, wireless network,smartphone,letter,telephone, e-mail,memo,report,of some others means) through which a message is transmitted.

encoding

The process of converting the idea of a sender into word or gestures that convey meaning

noise

anything that disrupts the transmission of a message in the communication process.

feedback

verbal and nonverbal responses to a transmitted message

decoding

translating a message from its symbol from into meaning

digital message

A message that is generated, stores, processed, and transmitted electronically by computers using strings of positive and nonpositive binary code consisting of 0s and 1s.

Prewriting

First step in the writing process; the writer generates ideas

Drafting

the second stage in the writing process;includes researching,organizing,and composing the message

anticipating

Predicting how your audience will react to your message

revising

the third stage of the writing process; includes revising, proofreading, and evaluating to determine if the message accomplishes it goal

proofreading

checking a document carefully to ensure correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format

Analyzing

Determining the audience and your purpose for writing

adapting

choosing the right words and the right tone that will win the audience's approval

evaluating

Deciding whether your message accomplishes your goal

profiling

Anticipating the audience and the reaction to your message.

Someone other than the primary audience who may read your message

Audience-focused perspective; emphasis on receiver benefits.

bias-free language

Expressions that do not stereotype or show bias in terms of gender, race, ethnicity, age, or disability

plain language

Using clear, concise language that avoids showy words, long sentences, and confusing expressions

media richness

the extent to which a channel or medium recreates or represents all the information available in the original message.

Primary Audience

The audience for whom a message is written

positive language

Language that creates goodwill and gives more options to receivers than negative language

vigorous words

Strong verbs and concrete nouns that give receivers more information and keep them interested.
